Pakistani Actress Shabnam in Karachi after 14 Years

Shabnam, accompanied by her husband, renowned music composer Robin Ghosh, expressed her joy at coming back to the country that brought her fame. The couple, originally belonging to parts in former East Pakistan, had shifted to Bangladesh at the end of the 20th century.
“I’ll try to meet everyone,” the actor told the media on being asked whether she will meet her former colleagues in the country. She further expressed sorrow over the closure of Pakistani film studios.


When asked if she would consider working for Pakistani films again, Shabnam didn’t sound too sure.
On the insistence of some media personnel, Shabnam sang a line from one of the songs filmed on her.
According to a report by Dawn, Shabnam is returning to the country to be a part of a show organized by Pakistan Television to honor the couple for their contribution to Pakistani films.

Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto death anniversary: Sindh government announces holiday on April 4

KARACHI: The Government of Sindh on Monday announced a holiday on April 4 across the province in order to commemorate the 33rd death anniversary of the Pakistan Peoples Party founder leader Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.





The death anniversary of the former prime minister would be observed with great respect and solemnity.
Seminars and workshops will also be held to pay tribute to Bhutto for his services.

Pir Pagara Passes away

LONDON: Chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F), and spiritual leader of the ‘Hur’ jamaat passed away in London, late on Tuesday due to lung infection, Express News reported.
According to reports, his doctors in London had changed his medication and tried their best to help him recover but to no avail.
Pagara was stable for a while yesterday and was being fed through intravenous (IV) drip.
A Kingri house spokesperson said that his body is expected to be brought back to Pakistan early Thursday morning. He is expected to be buried at his ancestral shrine the same day.
Earlier the 83 year old PML-F leader was admitted to the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) on November 24, where his lungs were operated upon. Shortly afterwards, due to deteriorating condition, he was put on a ventilator.
Pagara was flown to London on a special plane on January 5, with medical equipment onboard. He was accompanied by his wife, son and PML-F president Sadruddin Rashdi, and chief khalifa of the Hur jamaat Qadir Bux Mangrio.
MQM condoles
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain condoled the death of Pir Pagara.
Hussain expressed his condolences for Pir Pagara’s death with his children, family, Khalifas and followers as well as the leaders and workers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F).
In a statement issued from London, the MQM chief said that Pagara’s death was a huge tragedy and loss for the country. He added that the vacuum his death had created in politics can never be filled.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UN 
Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah Hussain Haroon, expressed a deep sense of grief over the sad demise of Pir Pagara.
In a condolence message to his son, Pir Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi, Ambassador Haroon condoled with the bereaved family.
“May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy and heritage live on,” the message said.
